We teach our students how to learn, so they build confidence and develop the skills needed to achieve success in school and beyond. We're looking for high-energy applicants who are able to create a positive and fun learning environment while teaching STEM-based programs.

Responsibilities

Develop a rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for Clever Play services Take pictures and videos of students during classes Be prepared for each project before each class starts Set up and clean up materials and classroom before and after each session Maintain materials in good condition Greet and assist students to build rapport and establish expectations Help prepare room for class and set up materials Encourage and monitor students throughout sessions Help students build projects when needed Ensure clean up means all materials end up back in packaging Model how to program and build structurally sound robots, and support groups of students in building and programming their own. Teach elementary school students the principles of Robotics including the functions of power source, sensors, motors and structural members of a robot.

An ideal candidate would be

  • Ability to acquire a working knowledge of robotics, engineering, science, problem-solving skills, and simple computer programming skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to work with elementary-aged children in a co-teaching capacity
  • Computer science/math/science/engineering background and/or experience with robotics is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Camp Counselor or Mentor
  • Enthusiastic about using manipulatives like LEGO and KNEX to build and learn
  • Experienced in managing groups and elementary/middle school-aged students
  • Engaging and able to oversee classroom dynamics
  • Dynamic and flexible
  • Able to follow the course curriculum as designed and accept coaching and development
  • Communicate needs and missing/broken materials to manager
