The initial idea and logo of Cartoon Planet were first popped up by the founder Mohamed Almahdi during an exchange program in Sri Lanka. Where he took advantage of the fresh air and got inspired by the pure nature. So he decided to startup his own business back in 2012.
In 2013, he won the cartoon competition of the US Embassy in Bahrain which qualified him for a summer workshop at the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont, USA.
Using the resources he had, Mohamed launched the business in an old building located in Manama in 2014. He started from scratch and worked so hard in order to g

“I graduated with an IT degree from the University of Bahrain – not with a high grade,” admitted Mohammed Al-Mahdi. “I avoided employment in the IT industry so I opted to focus on my startup Cartoon Planet.”
What started as a creative company for short comic strips became a well-known Digital Art training program.
“The comic stripe failed to get funding and acceptance from the market,” said Mohammed. “But I noticed that Bahrain had talented digital artists who are working in harsh conditions that can threaten their creativity.”
“I am taking the artists in Bahrain seriously by training the talented ones and improving those with potential. We target the creative youth – mainly university students and even kids above 10 years old.”
