Description

The candidate is responsible for designing, organizing and coordinating all brand operational training through a strategic approach, developed in coordination with HR Learning and Development (L&D) and the SBU Operations Heads. He/she will effectively contribute his ideas and vision as a brand ambassador to foster the brand’s standards across all areas including: products, quality, and processes. He/she has overall responsibility for ensuring that the Company’s brand training policies and procedures are adhered to and will recommend and develop action plans for continual process improvements/enhancements in the operations, training and development of a brand culture and identity.

Responsibilities

  1. Acts proactively with the Brand’s Executive Chef and Operations Directors in planning, designing, organizing and coordinating brand operations’ trainings.
  2. Designs and documents all brand training related materials.
  3. Prepares the Brand Training Programme in coordination with the HR L&D Manager.
  4. Develops and writes all training related documents for the brand in approved designated templates for FOH and BOH.
  5. Prepares all Brand Training Plans for incoming employees in all roles, as per brand training standards for effective Brand Immersion.
  6. Works closely with the SBU Managers and training coordinators – FOH and BOH – to organize and coordinate Brand training at all levels.
  7. Works closely with the HR L&D to coordinate all Brand training related activities inclusive of trainee nominations, dates of training etc.
  8. Generates Brand Training MIS, including: employee training passport, operational training record and matrix at agreed times.
  9. Design, organizes and coordinates operations training tools and regularly updates same.
  10. Ensures that all SBU employees are trained as required, by those concerned, and certified across the brand during their probationary periods.
  11. Ensures that there is effective cross sectional training in the brand for all incumbents
  12. Ensures employee growth and development within the Brand, in coordination with the SBU’s Operations Director, to design and achieve effective succession plan for all staff.
  13. Ensures product standards are maintained and staff is consistently re-trained, by the departments concerned, on the products, services and food safety.
  14. Ensures that the SBU maintains a high level of attendance within the HR L&D training portfolio, especially with regard to Food Safety training.
  15. Spearheads the openings of new restaurants and works closely with the SBU’s Operations Director regarding the transition of teams from one SBU to another to ensure effective implementation of brand standards in any new projects.
  16. Ensures that Brand Training Budgets (forecasted/final) are prepared and are strictly adhered to for all existing and new projects.
  17. All of the above must be carried out in strict adherence with the Company’s Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.
  18. Any other tasks as assigned by management.

An ideal candidate would be

  1. Post-secondary education is preferred (eg a bachelor's degree or college diploma in the following: hotel management, logistics, supply chain management, operations management, finance
  2. Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, MIS, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
  3. Good communication skills in Arabic and English – spoken and written. Arabic is a must.
  4. Mathematics – Confident in arithmetic, reconciling invoices and accounts.
  5. Attention to Detail: Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  6. Dependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
  7. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  8. Cooperation: Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
  9. Knowledge of Food Safety and Quality controls.
  10. Ability to multitask and take on cross functional tasks when required.
